Welcome to the UAE-Japan Cultural Centre Forum. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mohamed Al Mahmoud, a UAE national and have been part of the UAE-Japan Cultural Centre for a little over half a year. I have lived in Abu Dhabi for almost my entire life (except for four years which I spent in the US while studying for my bachelors) Having minored in Japanese while in university, I am still very much interested in learning more about Japanese language and culture. I am also interested in sharing my culture with Japanese who are either living or visiting the UAE. I enjoy listening to Japanese music and have watched a lot of Japanese movies, and a couple of JDrama series. Oh, and my blood type is AB+

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله و بركاته
はじめまして、 セイフ.アルシャムシです。 どうぞよろしく。
My name is Saif AlShamsi, I am very glad that this board is lunched where I rarely have a time to meet others in relation to culture exchange because of my busy schedule.
I livid in Japan for two years in Nagoya-shi of Aichi-ken. I try to visit Japan one or two times a year, but I didn’t visit Japan since early 2008. yet I am looking forward to do so in the near future.
My experience in Japan was a positive one, and Japan for me isn’t limited in Anime, Manga or Jdrama, it is more than just that.
I welcome all Japanese people here in UAE, in Japan or from any where in the world, feel free to ask any thing related to UAE culture, religion and language and I will be happy to help you.
Best Regards, Saif AlShamsi

Konnichi-wa minna san! こんいちはみんな産 ぼくはГригорий, but while Rusiajin names are quite difficult for all of you - I am normally using English pronouncation of this name: Gregory. I do not think that you will be able to spell the nickname I used (double 'L'!), but I am very fond of it, so sorry.
I am living in UAe fo around 4 years, working as head of corporate clients technical department in outsorced IT support company.
Not surprising for gaijin - firstly I was interested in Japan because of anime. But definitely - it is only part of Japanese culture, so in short time my interests extended beyond anime and manga, although still quite connected to it. As e.g. I hope to watch and read it in orgignal at some point in future. Anyway - there is a lot of other interesting things in Japanese culture, that could be represented very briefly in these sources (as poetry, for example), so I am eager to learn more!
From my side - I would be happy to help with more or less high-level IT problems (servers, routers, interconnecting offices, etc., sorry, I lost my quality as first-level desktop support long ago, I have DT support 下位s for such tasks now). And definitely - if anybody is interested in real modern Russia life (not common persumptions like bears on the streets, but real stories) - you are welcome!
Yeroshikou onegaishimasu! (Sorry, can't find correct Kanji for 'Yeroshikou' even while it is very common phrase).
P.S. matsukaz, you should install Japanese Microsoft IME keyboard support on your computer and browse this forum in unicode UTF-8.

For Yoroshiku, you may use 宜しくお願いします (yoroshiku onegaishimasu) or 宜しくお願いいたします (yoroshiku onegai itashimasu=super polite)。 or you can use hiragana only... if any more questions about Kanji or Nihongo, please let me know anytime... well, I simply changed the browser..now I'm using Mozilla 4, then I can post Kanji... most people who started to like Japan because of Anime or J Music...I began to like Japan when I did some Japanese Band music covers...at the first time, I found it hard to spell the any Japanese words or when I saw the japanese books with many kanjis... I'm glad that I survived and continue the Japanese Studies as I passed JLPT 2... Currently I'm on my study for Polite Japanese and Business Conversations Level... 皆様御機嫌よ--
